In November we will be hosting the APRU Provosts Forum 2014 and we will welcome colleagues among Provosts from around the region to our University. This will be the second Provost Forum since the last meeting hosted by the National University of Singapore in 2011.
The Provosts Forum will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to discuss topics of collective interest and importance to their respective institutions. In the upcoming forum, we will be looking at strategic topics in university leadership such as research productivity, funding, benchmarking and rankings of universities and intellectual property.
The selection of topics includes discussions on research productivity and its impact, the role of research universities in an increasingly competitive global environment and how APRU might add value to members through the provosts’ network beyond what individual member institutions can do.
It is our hope that the forum will enable us to work closer together in shaping Asia-Pacific higher education and research by creating new opportunities and enhancing networking among the Provosts/Deputy Vice-Chancellors (Academic) of all APRU members.
On behalf of the University of Malaya, it is a great honour for us to become the host of this event and I would like to extend our warm welcome to all participants to our campus in November.
