It is with great pleasure that we announce the Dengue Colloquium and Workshop 2013. The event will be held on 11-14 June, 2013 at the University Malaya. It is jointly organized by the WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) for Arbovirus Reference & Research (Dengue Fever/Dengue hemorrhagic fever) and the Tropical Infectious Diseases Research & Education Centre (TIDREC) with support from the financial assistance of the LRGS Infectious Diseases 2011-14 Programme by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
The Dengue Colloquium (11-12 June) consists of a 2-day seminar that will feature prominent speakers and researchers experienced in different aspect of dengue research. Participation is open to all with no registration fee. There will also be a poster presentation session. The dateline for abstract submission is May 27, 2013.
The Dengue Workshop (13-14 June) will focus on three molecular methods of dengue virus (DENV) detection;
1) RT-PCR for DENVserotyping,
2) Quantitative real-time RT-PCR and
3) LAMP (Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification).
They represent the latest technology in DENV detection and are useful in dengue research and diagnostic and for field studies.
