About the Organizer:
The Centre for Ionics at University of Malaya (CIUM) was founded in 2007 by Prof. Dr. Abdul Kariem bin Mohd Arof to promote research activities on ionics and related fields. Since then CIUM has emerged as one of the leading research centres in University of Malaya and strives to become a centre of excellence in ionics research in the Asian region. To date the CIUM has published more than 300 ISI-cited journal and contributed to the human resource development by producing 44 Ph.D and 44 M.Sc. holders.
The ICFMD is in line to support University of Malaya’s vision to become world class university. This biennial conference will be the sixth of its series after it has been previously held in Kuala Lumpur (twice), Kuala Terengganu, Pulau Pinang and Johor Bahru. The conference intends to provide a platform for discussion among Malaysian and International scientists, which would develop the awareness and motivation between them to successfully completing their studies. The plenary sessions and invited talks by renowned speakers from various fields would give insights to the current R & D scenario around the world and hopefully would inspire us to venture into global challenges in the future to come.
This conference is designed to encourage extended free discussion of current results and ongoing related research in functional materials and devices. Topics include, but are not limited to the following areas:

Graphene and its applications
