In line with the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya’s aspiration to be the leader in the fields of Islamic research and innovation, various efforts and approaches have been conducted to generate and disseminate new knowledge and know how to enhance the quality of living and further stimulate and increase the country’s economy through commercialization. One of the prime activities to help achieve this in organizing Poster Exhibition at International Seminar On Research In Islamic Studies II (ISRIS II) to instill the spirit of research and development (R&D) based on creativity and innovation. The University of Malaya provides encouragement and inspiration to its researchers to its fullest and in so doing boost the ability and capability of its researchers through the construction and strengthening of its research infrastructure and increased research collaboration and ultimately promote research excellence. It is hoped that by so doing, the University Malaya will realize its goal of being the leading institution in research and innovation.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this exhibition are as follows:
v Fulfill the University of Malaya aspiration in its effort to motivate excellence in research through innovation
v Display and bring to the fore the heritage of the Academy of Islamic Studies in its wealth of research which is ongoing and on the increase and its research expansion.
v Create a new generation inculcated with the spirit of creativity and innovation which will continue to uphold the reputation of the Academy of Islamic Studies and University of Malaya’s excellence in research
v Be the motivational force in the application of creativity and innovation in Islamic research
v Recognize and give due appreciation to the Islamic scholars for their achievement in creativity and innovation
v Inculcate the spirit to achive excellence in research and to stimulate the students interest in creativity and innovation in the field of Islamic studies

REGISTRATION & SET UP OF EXHIBITION
Ø Registration and setting up of booths will commence on 13/02/2012 from 10.00am to 12.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Ø Every participants will be provided a poster board
Ø For those are not attending the exhibition but participating in the poster exhibition, they should post their poster by own expenses to secretariat 5 days before 15 February 2012.

ORAL PRESENTATION
Ø The On Wednesday, 15 February 2012 the judgment will be held. All participants must attend the oral presentation for the judgment.

EXHIBITION
Ø The exhibition will start at 8.30am and end at 5.00pm daily from 14 -16 Febuary 2012

JUDGEMENT
Ø Judgment for the poster competition will be held on the first day (15 Febuary 2012) from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. There will be a hour rest from 1.00 to 2.00 pm for lunch and Zohor prayer
Ø Judgment will place emphasis on the following:
1)Novelty and creativity
2)Usefulness and application
3)Presentation
4)Commercial potential
Ø Contest results will be announced on the second day, 16 Febuary 2012 (Thursday)
Ø Prizes for the winners are in the form of souvenirs and certificate depending on the categories
