The main objective of the Doctoral Consortium is to offer the fresh new doctoral students (currently in their first year of their doctoral research) with an avenue for them to present and discuss their research projects with senior researchers and to develop good relationships with fellow researchers from the same field of research. This event can help the new PhD. students to obtain the feedback and advice from the experts about their present research at the early stage so that they can have a clearer direction of their research.
Doctoral students will present their research work in a relaxed and supportive environment and receive feedback and suggestions from peers and experienced researchers. They will also obtain the insight into the current trend in doctorial research within the area of computer science and information technology. The event also helps the participant to have better exchange of ideas with experts and other PhD students from different institutions.
Due to the time consuming nature of the Doctoral consortium, the number of participants will be restricted. The event is only for new PhD. students (within one year of candidature). There is no additional fee for attending the Doctoral consortium, but students are required to register for PgRES in order to participate in the event.
The chairs for the doctoral consortium are Professor. Dr. Miss Laiha Mat Kiah, Professor. Dr. Siti Salwah Salim and Professor Dr. Abrizah Abdullah from the University of Malaya.
