TRAVEL INFORMATION AND ACCOMMODATION
If you are flying into the city, you will be disembarking at one of the three international/regional terminals in Kuala Lumpur: the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) or Subang SkyPark Terminal.
To get from the airport to the city centre, it is best to take a taxi to your lodgings or to the University campus (all three airports have taxi counters where you can purchase a coupon). From KLIA and KLIA2, it is also possible to hop on the KLIA Express (RM55 one way) which is a fast train linking both airports to the city’s central transport hub known as KL Sentral.
Taxi fares for the Airport Limo service at KLIA are fixed according to zones. The fare from KLIA to KL Sentral is RM74.30 (barring any change since 2015).
WHERE TO STAY
There are various options on where to stay depending on your budget and preferences.
The closest hotels to the University of Malaya campus are the Pullman and Crystal Crown hotels which are both just a stone’s throw away. Information on each can be found via the links below:

2. Airbnb and homestays
More economical alternatives can be found on Airbnb; for example, two particular Airbnb hosts offer very affordable rates of RM64 (USD16) and RM83 (USD21) a night respectively. Both are located in a condominium which is within striking distance of the campus:
