1)All currently registered postgraduate students are eligible to participate.
2)Students may choose to make an oral presentation or a poster presentation. Only those doing oral presentations are eligible for the competition.
3) The oral presentation competition will be held in two categories: Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, at two levels: Masters and PhD levels.
4)Up to ten oral presentations will be selected from each category to compete at the seminar.
5)There are four monetary awards available for the best oral presentation,one for Masters students and one for PhD students in each category, i.e., 2 (1 Masters and 1 PhD level) for Molecular Biology and (1 Masters and 1 PhD) for Biotechnology.
6)Each entry must be accompanied by an extended abstract of 3 - 6 pages, including, title, author(s), abstract, introduction, objectives, methodology, results, figures & tables, discussion, conclusion and references. The extended abstract should be in Times New Roman, font size 12, with a line spacing of 1.5 and saved in Word (.doc) format. Selected abstracts will be presented either orally or as poster presentations.
Oral Presentation Instructions:Students will be given 10 minutes to make their presentations and 10 minutes for questions and answers.
Poster Presentation Instructions:Posters should be a maximum of 59.4Wx 84.1H cm (A1 size), and will be placed on easels in the viewing areas.
7)A soft copy of the extended abstract together with the registration form must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
8)The closing date for submission of extended abstracts is 31st DECEMBER 2015, 5pm.
