Call for Abstract


Stem Cell and Cancer Symposium (SCCS) 2018 scientific committee is pleased to invite authors to submit abstracts for oral, poster or ‘Junk the Jargon: StemCer in 180 seconds!’ presentations.  ‘Junk the Jargon: StemCer in 180 seconds!’ is a session whereby presenters will give a scientific concept about his/her research in an interesting and engaging way within 3 minutes. The accepted submissions are to be delivered at the inaugural Stem Cell and Cancer Symposium (SCCS) 2018.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS NOW CLOSED. REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN FOR NON-PRESENTING PARTICIPANT ONLY.

  • Abstract acceptance notification   :30th September 2018

Notification of Acceptance

  • All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee according to standard review procedures.
  • Notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail to corresponding, presenting and abstract submitting authors.

General Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  • Abstract has to be submitted online via the conference profile on our website; submissions by fax, post or email will not be considered.
  • Submitted abstract should NOT been previously published and have not been presented in other conferences or proceedings.
  • Keywords: Maximum 5 words.
  • Presenting author must be a PAID registered participant.
  • Each registered participant is only allowed to submit ONE abstract as a presenting author, which will be considered either for an oral or poster presentations. Submitting author needs to indicate their preference for either an oral or poster presentation.
  • An individual is allowed to be a co-author in more than one abstracts.
  • Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammar or scientific mistakes, as it will be printed exactly as submitted. Proofreading will not be done.
  • Changes are NOT permitted on submitted abstract after the deadline.
  • For the purpose of standardization of formatting, please refer to the following ‘ORAL AND POSTER ABSTRACT TEMPLATE’ or ‘JUNK THE JARGON: STEMCER IN 180 SECONDS!’ ABSTRACT TEMPLATE’.
  • The total words count for an abstract must not exceed 350 words for oral or poster abstract and 250 words for ‘Junk the Jargon: StemCer in 180 seconds!’
  • A figure conceptualising the research project is optional (applicable for ‘Junk the Jargon: StemCer in 180 seconds!’ abstract). Please refer to the ‘JUNK THE JARGON: STEMCER IN 180 SECONDS!’ ABSTRACT SAMPLE as a guideline.
  • Figures, tables or diagrams need NOT be included in the abstract for the oral and poster presentations.
  • Citations are NOT used throughout the abstract.  
  • Abbreviations should initially be defined in full, with subsequent mention using the special abbreviation.
